(John 13:24-25)
Two more little (?) details just jumped out at me:
- Peter just assumes John knows or can very easily find out what Jesus is thinking.
- John leans back against Jesus' chest to ask Him the question. Very likely he gets in close enough to whisper, not wanting to blurt it out in front of the others.
John is completely relaxed in his relationship with Jesus. He reveres Him as Lord, but he also speaks to Him as an intimate family member would. Jesus loves all the disciples, but John knows how much Jesus loves him -- no doubt because he leans back against Jesus' heart on a regular basis.
