Keep calm and take shelter
I wasn't sure what sort of shelter was meant, but I decided to take it as a reference to Christ. As I was mulling this, the young woman wearing the t-shirt smiled at me. I smiled back.
I can't know for sure, but something in her smile seemed to affirm that she interpreted the slogan the same way. I hope so. Either way, Jesus was giving me a message. Not just the message I took from the words on the shirt, but a confirmation of His constant presence in my world, and of His sweet, very personalized love for me.
This next month promises to be crazy-busy, full of manoeuvring through various large tasks. Jesus has been teaching me new ways recently; they will be put to the test and then some. I have other struggles going on in the background as well.
If I come out of all this alive (so to speak), it will be all down to Him. And to the fact that I've taken the message on that t-shirt to heart.
The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge; my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.
Psalm 18:2
