Last night I visited the "Living Truth" site to listen to the sermon that was shown on TV on Sunday. On the home page, something caught my eye: A three-week telethon is coming up called "Reaching the Arab Nations for Christ." I'll post the link below, although it may no longer be active once the telethon is over:
"Reaching the Arab Nations for Christ" 2013 telethon, October 13, 20, and 27
The essential part of the announcement is this: "Living Truth believes that God is leading us to translate our program into Arabic and broadcast it via satellite throughout the Arabic speaking world."
Why on earth do I mention this here? Because this news made my heart almost literally leap for joy. I sometimes hear Christians talk about the Muslim world with anger and fear -- extremists (they don't always even qualify that it's extremists) are wreaking havoc on the world. But God's message is, REACH the Arab nations.
God is not fearful. His anger isn't focused against a particular religion or people. He knows that in our natural fallen state, all of us live in false understanding. He wants people of all nations, all backgrounds, to come to recognize Jesus as Lord.
Well, I'll leave it at that. I'll be watching the telethon. Maybe I'll even put that "you're right" lesson I had recently into practice and ask Him if He wants me to contribute something. :) But the point is, God is God. Do we really believe this? He calls us to be surrendered before Him, not just so our own lives can be healed, but so He can work through us to bring the entire world to know Christ.
