The God who is our salvation.
Psalm 68:19
I can't live the Christian life -- no one can but Jesus. So how cool is it to discover (as I did just a few hours ago) that there's a verse that more or less explains in a nutshell what we're to do day-by-day as Christians.
It begins with praise (Blessed be the Lord), then gives us a mini map of how to proceed: Daily, surrender yourself and your burdens to Him; let Christ Himself be your salvation throughout the day. This doesn't mean "don't do anything." It means, begin each day with full surrender, clearing the path for Him as Lord, then keep letting Him rule as Lord throughout the day. If you keep grabbing the burden back, or keep neglecting to obey Him, you'll miss much of His sweet hands-on intervention in your life. (No need to ask me how I know!)
The "mini map" in this verse is straightforward, yet impossible to follow in human strength. Maybe that's why the first step is praise! Acknowledgment that He alone is God, and that we are utterly beholden to Him.
