When I was coming up out of the water after being baptized umpteen years ago, the person asked whether I was feeling great emotion about it. I wasn't, but it didn't seem right to say "No" in front of all those people, so I said "Yes." (This lie has since been confessed and forgiven.) Incidentally, if this situation were to occur today, I would simply reply, "Not really; but I'm obeying my Lord."
I suspect the people who were baptized yesterday at the Peoples Church will have some finer memories of the comments that surrounded their own step of obedience to the Lord Jesus. The sermon I've posted below is, to me, not only the best commentary I've ever heard on baptism, but one of the clearest explanations I've ever heard of what it means to be brought to new life in Christ. There is much food for thought here.
